As some of you may know, it’s my oldest’s birthday on Friday, and she will be 8! Saturday is her Baptism, and we are so excited! I was referred by a friend to this wonderful Etsy shop, and I wanted to share it with all of you! The shop owner Addrienne is so accommodating, and very quick! I ordered during the weekend and I already got word that its in the mail! Anyway, I ordered a Baptism towel for my daughter, totally customized with her name and the date of her Baptism, colors and design.
Here is Addrienne’s Etsy Shop: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9826778
and here are some of her custom designs: http://personalityplusboutique.com/go/popup.php?pgid=3
Here is a link to all of Addrienne’s embroidery design choices. As she does all kinds of custom work if you don’t see exactly what you want just let me know and she can find it!
and…here is her official website: http://personalityplusboutique.com/
I would highly recommend Addriene as someone who can do quality work, quickly, and inexpensively! I can’t wait to get the Baptism towel in the mail!
Addrienne does lots of custom embroidery work, especially baptism gifts and first birthday tutu and onesie sets. She does tons of LDS stuff, and stuff for little kids. If you know of someone (your child, niece/nephew, grandchild etc) that is getting Baptized, this is a wonderful gift that can be kept for years to come as a remembrance.

Meridian Magazine has a video they link to about what is at stake in the issue of same-sex marriage. This isn’t just about giving them the right to be married. There is alot more at stake than just the right to be married. We are losing our freedom to teach our children what we believe. They counter and say that its Tolerance, yet, they are intolerant about others beliefs. Please watch this video, it only takes a few minutes, and it will help you to realize exactly what is at stake here.
Also, this morning I found an author who is upset at the money that is being donated by church members, and links to a site where you can donate for the other side. This author also states:
“This is about consolidating the Mormon church into the wider Christianist movement. If the Mormons can prove their anti-gay mettle, they will be less subject to suspicion from evanglicals.”
As Mormons or members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I don’t believe it’s our intention at all to blend in or consolidate ourselves into the Christian movement. I believe we are simply saying, don’t take away a fundamental right from us…don’t teach our children ungodly truths…we can still love each other and not have to have our children taught that someone else’s choices or behavior is correct.

Did you know that you can download music in mp3 format to listen to on your iPod or MP3 Player? I am sure that most of you knew you could, but have you? I was talking to a teenage neighbor of mine the other day, and he said that he had nearly 4,000 songs on his iPod! Serious?! Apparently I am not hip to all of this stuff, but, after hearing that, it really made me think….
At one time I thought that I had a lot of music, I think that I have probably close to 100 cd’s but, I have since rethought that, and come to realize that I really don’t have that many compared to some. This also made me ponder on what it is exactly that everyone is listening to…4,000 thousand songs? I like lots of music, but, are those really all songs that this kid listens to? Are there any in there that shouldn’t be? Are there any uplifting or spiritual songs in that group?
I surely hope that out of those 4,000 songs that there are some good songs in there. Now, this kid isn’t a bad kid…he’s a regular every day teenager…but, what is the norm? I am not saying that having hundreds if not thousands of songs is bad, because I don’t believe it is…it just really stirred my thoughts about what is being listened to, and for what reasons.
That last thought is kind of worrisome looking, but, my whole point is that, with that many songs in one little player, what are we or our children constantly filling our heads with? I must confess, that I listen to more worldly music than church music, but, I do try to make sure that what I listen to is not foul (I really don’t like that kind anyway) nor does the music have lyrics that I wouldn’t want my children to hear. That being said, there is so much good music available, and it isn’t all just LDS music. We just need to be careful of what we are putting in our minds and thoughts.
If you are looking for good music to occupy some time while you are walking or while you are running around doing all those “things” we do each day, you might try going to the churchs website and downloading some hymns or primary songs to take along with you!

I came across a fellow blogger the other day (actually followed her from @LDSCrowd) and have come to love her! Natasha is someone who you instantly feel like you know or want to know very badly! I have found her posts thoughtful and enjoyable (ok, there are tons more terms that I thought (and would rather have used) about using here, but, trid to keep it at two). If you watch her videos you get a much more personal experience, and really get to know her heart deep down.
Natasha’s blog is called “Becoming Something”. How appropriate! Are we not all becoming something? Are we becoming the best we can be? Are we working daily to be our very best and have gratitude for what we have?
Natasha has quite a few people who follow her blog and comment, and if you read even just a couple of posts, you will see why! This is one one reader had to say: “everytime i read something you write i feel connected to you in many ways…i can’t verbalize it really, it’s just something that is.”
Here are a few of my favorites:

Cod sperm, rats, cockroaches. Yum! - My blog friend Mike says he’s getting the shakes going through Becoming Something withdrawal. I missed a day of posting and the last few posts have been so short. Um. Um. Hmmm. I have nothing to say. Well, if you’re not following me on …

After watching conference today (and yesterday) I decided that I need to rewatch it! Thank goodness for Tivo! or my DVR…(same thing). I made some notes, but, with kids not cooperating, I am going to have to find some time to watch it all over again. I know I could get more out of it, if I had some peace and quiet
Here is a video that I found while visiting a blog today, it’s from my favorite YouTube guy Seth!
