Over the years, you hear of certain famous people being Mormon. Some you believe right away that they are, and then you pause, and think that you hope they are….how cool would that be? Sometimes, you may cringe…I say this, because even as hard as I try to be non-judgemental, I do slip up. Not that I don’t want certain people to be LDS, because I would like very much for us all to return to live in Heaven. My only apprehension, is sometimes, that because we are ALL human, we make mistakes, some more than others and some more hurtful than others. Our representation of our church is based (whether we like it or not) a great deal on how we act on a day to day basis. For some reason many people allow other religious (of other faiths) people more room, yet Mormons are not typically given as much room (overlooking short comings of a Mormon is often more difficult).
On with the real reason for this post, I visited Famous Mormons and was pleasantly surprised to see how many truly famous Mormons there really are. I knew of quite a few of them, my Idol being Sharlene Wells-Hawkes, but some were very exciting to see! I have to admit there were a few on the Rumored to be Mormon page that as I stated above, would never have thought of putting their names in the same sentence as Mormon.
It’s very inspiring to see how many truly inspiring people there are that have found fame. Even more thought provoking is wondering how much of their personal convictions played a role in the feelings that were conveyed to me about a particular character or view of a film that I had watched.
I definitely recommend visiting Famous Mormons and seeing how many Famous Mormons you know.
