I have watched as many are curious what they should feed the missionaries when they come to your home for dinner. From what I have always been told, you feed them what you would normally fix, bearing in mind that if you are able, it would be good to ask what their favorite meals are or if there are certain things that they don’t like.
I was in the store a few weeks ago, and one woman had the missionaries with her, and she had them walk around the grocery store with her to pick up all the necessary ingredients it would take to make a native meal of one of the Elders. She would say, “Is this what you use?” and he would say, “no, but its the closest thing you have to it, and it will still be good”. This sister, went the extra mile to help a missionary who probably hasn’t had a “normal” meal in quite some time, and by doing so she is allowing her family the chance to try something new.
I would love to hear suggestions or ideas from any of you who have fed the missionaries, or who plan to do so in the near future. I have some recipes here, and try to add to them all the time.

We’ve made a meal like taco salad or even order Pizza if we’re busy. We even took them to a restaurant on Sunday the time we forgot they were coming over. That was memorable.
I remember growing up we had the Missionaries around for dinner alot. They would make a dish from where they were from and it became fun and interesting trying all the dishes from around the world.
We have always fed the missionaries “breakfast” for dinner. It is something that they rarely get, even for breakfast. It has always been a favorite for the missionaries in our area.
I don’t ever remember missionaries coming to our house as a child but they come now and chill with my kids. My kids love it when they come over and hate to see them leave. We attend church and other activities regularly. I always feed them what ever I would fix for my family. A lot of times when I ask them what they would like they say “Please no spaghetti or roast. How about breakfast.” I always fix every breakfast food you can think; eggs, bacon, suauge, biscuits & gravy, stuffed french toast, hashbrowns, fresh fruit. The Elders enjoy it greatly!
