I am a salsa girl! I have always loved salsa. My Grandma made her version, of which we called Chilli Sauce. Uh, no, it wasn’t hot, it was actually sweet. Grandmas chilli sauce was the best. I could down a whole bottle with chips.
On Sunday afternoons, one of our common after church snacks is tortilla chips (Mission brand or Kirkland, which are the same) and salsa! Love the two tastes together! Whats better than just a plain good snack? One that isn’t bad for you either! Hey, there’s veggies in it! The only salsa that I buy for salsa purposes is Pace Picante. No other brand cuts the mustard…or should I say no other brand cuts the salsa!
I will purchase the regular Mild Pace Picante, but, if its available, I prefer to get chunky salsa. Our family often has guacamole, and hubby strains a bit of the juice off and puts salsa in it. We like making soft shell tacos at home and adding sour cream and Pace Picante. Before I left home to get married, we almost never said salsa, we said, “Pace” or “Pace Picante“.
What is your favorite salsa?

I found this site because I couldn’t remember the name of this salsa I’ve been getting recently. I grew up on Pace and I still love it but my tastes have shifted to fresh salsa whenever possible. That said, I occasionally have a craving for bottled salsa …but I have to say, Pace isn’t my favorite. It’s not even my 2nd favorite. My top 3 are 3) Pace Mild, 2) La Victoria Med, 1) The best bottled salsa in the WORLD is called Herdez. I tried it once on a 2 for 1 deal and I won’t ever buy anything else again. Seriously, try it just once and you’ll see the difference. …I sound like Herdez sales guy right now. I’m just an average Joe …and part time salsa snob
…all this is assuming I can’t find a good fresh salsa or make my own.
