While I respect anyone who has the guts to be President of the United States, and I respect them for doing what they believe in, I am not excited about the next four years. This next four could turn into eight, and I am already prepping myself for it.
I didn’t watch the inauguration. To be real honest, I am not thrilled that Barack Obama is president. I am however glad that we as a nation can see past color, that in and of itself is a step in the right direction. My issues with Obama, is that we only agree on about 10 percent of the issues at hand. I am however so glad to see a country rally behind a president and for our nation to be so hopeful.
This Presidential Inauguration did show the best and worst of us though. President Bush was boo’d. I cannot believe that in our country, we have so little respect for a man who may not have been everything to everyone, and maybe not everything to some…but, where has respect gone? Being President of the United States, means knowing things that no one else knows, nor has to deal with, and make decisions about.
Because we have no idea what they are faced with day in and day out, and because they serve our country, and make the hard decisions, we owe them respect. I have noticed for many years, the lack of respect we have, and it has bothered me for quite some time. One thing I want my children to be is respectful. I do not believe that you need to agree with everyone. I do believe that you can have respect despite having a difference of opinion.
I don’t always agree with others, and sometimes I make it known, but, I do try very hard to be respectful of others opinions and beliefs. I guess this is one thing that as women, mothers, aunts, grandmothers, friends etc, that we help those around us to be more respectful of each other.
I would love to hear your opinions.

I can’t believe he was boo’d. Such a good man.
I too am not thrilled about the next 4-8 years, and honestly, parts of me are down right terrified. I agree with you on the race thing though. I’m glad it never came to that. I’m glad we were able to go above and beyond all of that nonsense.
